I mean the actual motion and artwork look pretty good, but it's so unfinished. I understand that you needed to cut corners in order to get it out on time but at least finish it and release it as something that isn't sound jam or just don't finish it but don't release it like this. It's a shame too, from what I see the animation is good so the final product would have kicked ass. 2 stars for the stuff that actually was done looking alright.

I feel you, man. I sometimes wish that I had a hyperbolic time chamber or something so I could take my time for the sake of quality.

This was really nice! I loved the animation and colors quite a bit. Wasn't quite a fan of that sound clip you used after the cartoon, you could have been just fine with the sound clip usually used after GG animations. The style is really simple in an appealing looking way. I also noticed that you used two shade colors, it was a nice touch however it might look a bit better if you made the light shade color ever so slightly darker at times to make it more noticeable, I didn't really notice it that much until looking kinda closely. I really liked the backgrounds, they look insanely pretty. My favorite part of this was how imaginative it was, with all the interesting scenery and all of the things you animated while the Arin and Dan presented everything, it's something I should try to do when I do "_____ animated" type cartoons.

Well thank you for such a well thought out critique! A lot of people seem apprehensive to say the things that need to be said criticism wise, but I appreciate your honesty with both what you liked and didn't so much like about it.

Just to address some of the things you touched on:

~ The sound clips I used were my little 8-bit covers of the original Game Grumps Animated "jingles." I'm assuming that's what you meant by the "sound clip" afterwards. I wanted to do something different for these jingles, to kind of add a little personal flair to the Game Grumps style.
~ With the two shade colours, looking back on it, I agree with you on them. One thing I've been trying to improve on a lot lately is using more of a bold colour scheme, because even though stuff like this might be a little easier on the eyes, I'm starting to get tired of having washed out looking colour schemes. I did really try to work hard on having a huge contrast between the 3 different sections, being the day portion, the underwater portion, and the sunset, so this might also partially contribute to the less noticeable shading in some scenes.

Overall though, thanks. I worked for months and months trying to polish every last little scene in this short animation, so I'm glad to see that the level of detail I tried to put into this didn't go unnoticed. This definitely has been one of the projects I'm most proud of, so I'll do my best in the future to out-do even THIS cartoon! Bigger and better, right?

Anyway, to cap this off, thanks again. I'll take into consideration all the things you said. I'm constantly trying to improve, so any feedback like this is greatly appreciated. :D

Man that was awesome, the lines were great as usual. The animation really kicked ass. The only thing I didn't like about it was that the cartoon didn't quite make it clear exactly what was happening.

MackleNG responds:

yeaahh, i guess it could be a little hard to make out, it made sense to me but i made it so of course i did, probably would of been best to get some dialogue in on this, thanks for da review

I've really come to appreciate these New Wave collabs more lately, ever since Pico Joins the Army. I just love how clear it is that you guys like making these. It makes them so fun to watch. My favorite part was definitely the Dr. Katz part, it was hilarious. I would not say that everything in this was really a hit with me, however I will say that I definitely did enjoy this. Keep up the good work! :)

we all have big penis!

It was good, the colors were great. The backgrounds were cool too, especially the one in the beginning. The joke overall had me chuckling ever so slightly but didn't really have me laughing too much, but hey as long as it entertained me to the point of laughing at least a little then it was successful. One particular thing that I wasn't particularly fond of was the background transition to Cameron. I overall never liked frame by frame background transitions, they tend to look bad in my opinion. It would have been fine if the camera just moved onto Cameron with no transition. Overall I liked it.

RedAndrew responds:

Thank you. But I will say about the background transition. Yeah, I might be bad at it, but my whole animation style is made frame by frame. Everything I do is frame by frame, no tweens ever. Course I wanted to do this effect thingy and even if it didn't work. I'll try to make it better next time, still frame by frame.

I'm going to be 100% honest... I didn't like it. I found it very boring. It had its moments, but overall it felt very devoid of humor.

MobileSpider responds:

I guess we all forgot to make the cartoon all pretentious sarcasm but we can laugh at life

Not bad for a first animation, certainly a hell of a lot better than mine was haha. The joke wasn't really delivered all that well, the pacing was a bit too slow. The movements were too choppy, I'd suggest adding more inbetweens, also try to add easing, and more bounce effects to make fast movements look a lot better. Also for the faster movements, squash and stretch can really make it look more powerful. That's about it, I can't really judge the art, as I'm not really good enough at art to make a good judge of it.

TreeBoar responds:

After I uploaded I read about easing because the movements didn't look all that organic. Thanks for the advice. Judge away you're art is really solid.

I really liked it. This is definitely the best thing you've made so far.

MackleNG responds:

thanks man, btw i can't wait for The Politicians Animated

It was alright. I mean, it's for the most part pretty decent. I love Super Mario World. That sound at the point in the video in which the mushroom zoomed in raped my ears. The effects were pretty nice, the animation itself is alright. The ending was pretty funny. Overall, I give this a 6/10

ianvart responds:

Nice to see someone who explicitly recognized it as Super Mario World, I've had some people say they thought it was supposed to resemble the original Super Mario Bros. Strangely, even if you meant it in a negative way, I'll take the audio comment as a compliment. It's supposed to be chaotic and uncomfortable, to fit what's going on.
But whatever, thanks for your thoughts!

I like it! One of my favorite animations in this site!
